In this episode I am going to break down in simple terms how our nervous system evolved to protect us from danger over time from the perspective of the poly-vagal theory. The way we react to situations in our lives follows a hierarchy based on the level of threat. I will be outlining in simple terms how the vagus nerve is involved in our automatic reactions to circumstances and what happens if we get stuck in one response for too long. I’ll be chatting about how our modern day society may be causing too much threat response and how this can contribute to many negative health outcomes.
